Cosmin Popa

Cosmin is the Innovation Activation Manager for JLABS @ BE in Beerse, Belgium. In this role, heleads engagement activations for Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS acrossBenelux and supports the broader EMEAregion’s marketing, events and communications. Cosmin manages coordination of high-quality, diverse and distinctive programming ranging from one-on-one investor meetings, workshops to large panel series, networking, community and social events that serve JLABS and the broader EMEA entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Prior to joining JLABS,Cosmin led the team responsible for healthcare and industrial biotech communications, media, national associations and SMEs at EuropaBio, the Brussels-based European biotech industry association. Inthis role, Cosmin managed key EuropaBio initiatives such as the European Biotech Week, the Most Innovative European Biotech SME Awards, the European Biotech SME CEOs Forum and the Benefits of Biotechnology Event. Prior to EuropaBio, Cosmin worked in communications for several non-profit organizations in Brussels active in non-discrimination, gender equality and equal rights.

Cosmin holds an undergraduate degree in communications and public relations from the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest, an exchange semester diploma with First Honors from Georgetown University, and a graduate degree in political philosophy from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
